Every agency already has a revenue department. In most founder-led shops it’s one person doing all of it, between client work and dinner. It’s not missing. It’s just unstaffed, and it’s you.
Delivery wobbles that make every project feel like a near-miss
Revenue that swings wildly quarter to quarter with no clear pattern
Team burnout because everything runs through you
Business development that depends entirely on the founder showing up
An internal environment where everything feels urgent and nothing feels clear
What You Actually Get
The win isn’t a bigger pipeline number. It’s the day you can hire your first account manager because the system finally lets you. Every step, we hand off a job that used to live in your head. We measure success the honest way: by how much less necessary we become.
The Department
A real revenue department has five jobs. In most agencies one person holds all five, badly. Here they are in plain English. As you read, notice how many have your name on them.
Who’s making you known? Your voice in the market, your point of view, the reason a good-fit client trusts you before the first call.
When someone shows up interested, what happens? Usually they wait too long and cool off. The cheapest revenue in the building, left to rot.
The accounts you actually want. Who’s chasing those? Deliberate pursuit of the right clients, not whoever happens to refer in.
The deals in motion. Who’s keeping them honest? Clean stages, real follow-up, the conviction to walk away from the wrong ones.
The quiet, rich seat. Most of your revenue is here, and it’s the one nobody’s tending. Renewals, expansion, and catching trouble before it walks.
The seats you do fill are leaking money you can’t see. We find it first. Most agencies have enough hidden revenue in their existing clients to cover the work ten times over.
The Ideology
A department is only as good as the standard it’s built to. Ours has two. We call them Craft and Care, and they're the foundation of everything we build together.
Everything you present to the market...your story, your system, your materials...is intentional and reflects your true value. Not good enough. Excellent. Every touchpoint is designed with purpose.
Every conversation with prospects and partners feels human, empathetic, and built on trust. Relationships are nurtured, not transacted. Care isn't a strategy...it's a standard.
The Core
These seven principles guide everything we do...from how we show up in conversations to how we build your growth systems.
Doing the right things matters more than doing things fast.
Be fully there. No laptop, no rush, no filler. Earn trust by listening.
Surface what's really happening in the business.
Systems and habits that compound over time beat heroic efforts.
Take responsibility for results, not just activity.
Every deliverable should be something you're proud to put your name on.
Behind every scope is a human who needs to feel right.
How we work together matters as much as what we work on. This partnership is designed to be responsive, practical, and deeply integrated with how your agency actually operates.
Slack and text access for fast turnaround on strategic decisions. Guidance before problems explode. You're never stuck waiting for answers.
Weekly or biweekly focused, clear, agenda-driven sessions for coaching, alignment, and active problem-solving. Real work gets done.
Rewriting your processes, improving your proposals, fixing your positioning, redesigning communication cadences, auditing client experience. The heavy lifting.
Light-touch workshops, delivery alignment, BD role enablement, leadership development. Your team gets stronger, not dependent.
Every quarter the agency levels up one core system. Continuous improvement becomes your competitive advantage.
Ideally, we become a quiet part of your leadership spine. Someone who helps shape how you think about growth, not just execute it.
The goal is to make your system stronger...and make me less necessary over time.
Success means you graduate to quarterly check-ins or full independence.
What happens if I get run over by a bus?
The system lives in your hands, not mine. Everything we build...playbooks, templates, workflows...stays documented and accessible.
You'll have a clean trail of what's been done, what's working, and what's next.
We build things so they survive people, including me.

The Services
Not a menu. A sequence. Each step builds on the last, and every one starts with the same conversation. Pricing is straightforward and we share it on the call ... no games, no tiers to decode.
Every engagement runs on the same operating layer: Red String, the system the department runs on. The research, the targeting, the outreach, the follow-through. We run it on ourselves before we run it for you, and it stays after the build so the department keeps running without us in the room.
A 30-minute, no-pitch conversation. We figure out what's broken, whether you need a department yet, and whether your story is ready to build on. Sometimes the honest answer is "not yet" ... and we'll tell you.
The door
We map your revenue department on paper ... every empty seat, and the money already leaking out of the ones you fill. You leave with a clear read whether or not we go further.
30 days
Ninety days where we stand the department up and wire it in. We start with the revenue you already have, get it running, then build outward. By the end it works, and your team knows how to run it.
90 days
We hold the department-head seat while your internal owner learns to. A quiet part of your leadership spine, designed to make us less necessary every quarter. You graduate to check-ins, or full independence.
Ongoing
The system the department runs on. The research, the targeting, the outreach, the follow-through. We run it on ourselves before we run it for you.

The Operator
The Person
I'm a builder. I've spent 25 years deep inside agency operations...starting companies, scaling them, fixing them when they broke, and eventually selling one.
In 2010 I co-founded SUMO Heavy Industries, a digital commerce consulting firm. Over 13 years we grew it past $2M+ in annual revenue, worked with brands like Zoom, Rogue Fitness, and Roku, and ultimately took it through acquisition. That experience taught me what actually works inside agencies...and what quietly destroys them.
Today I run Agency Focus as a fractional growth partner for agencies and consultancies doing $5...15M in revenue, and 14:59 PM Studio for founders who need content systems that actually drive pipeline.
Before all of that, I cut my teeth in technology project management, business analysis, SaaS integration, and running multiple ventures simultaneously. Temple University alum. Based in Norwalk, CT.
Started in tech...project management, business analysis, IT solutions across Philadelphia.
Launched first ventures...technology consulting and SaaS integration.
Co-founded SUMO Heavy Industries. 13 years building a digital commerce consultancy through to acquisition.
Launched Agency Focus and 14:59 PM Studio under Awesome Things XYZ.
Ready to scale?
Agency Focus is the place agencies go when they are done guessing. When they want clarity. When they want confidence.
If you run an agency and growth feels like it's held together with duct tape, or you're a founder with something worth saying but no system to say it... that's what we do. Let's grab coffee and chat about it.
